Sport’s Medicine
American Heart Association

Our Sports Medicine Department, which began in 1977 aims to provide our students with the best medical care possible. Under the supervision of the Director and coaches, our student assistants are trained in First Aid, CPR, how to use an AED and taping techniques for specific athletic injuries. Many students who complete the program decide to pursue a career in the healthcare field. Our goal is to make available these additional resources to participants and providing the best and most immediate care possible for our student athletes. More information about Sport’s Medicine.

Looking for sports medicine student assistants in all sports 2017.   Students contact Mr. Colligan @ colliganj@nmwarhawks.org.

If you are a manager for other sports and use the training room for filling coolers and bottles you need the 10 hour course. Sports Medicine assistants who tape athletes and general first aid need the 20 hour course.

Courses will start early spring on Wednesday after school 2:15 to 4:00. Check with coaches of the sports you are interested in to make sure they need you.
