Secondary School Business Department
Offering students the opportunity to acquire skills in computing and business we offer courses in accounting, finance, business management from basic to advanced. To help students understand the importance of tools such as accurate banking, income taxes, bookkeeping, organization and more. Our goal is to give students the skills needed to use technology and help them build a plan for spending and saving so as to promote well informed citizens and provide a foundation for future success.
Erica Groom
Erica Groom started out her adult career in healthcare. She brings over 14 years of experience as a Registered Nurse/Nurse Manager. Erica also has her Masters Degree in Business Leadership from William Penn University. She and her husband, Ryan have 4 children – Libby, Ryan, Aydan and Ely. Erica enjoys sports and you can see her at many events cheering on the Warhawks. Erica is excited about her career change and can’t wait to watch her students become successful adults.

Beau Leshen
Beau Leshen was born and raised in Albia, and is a physical education major—graduating from William Penn in 2023. Beau has three older brothers Brett, Bryce and Blake and a younger sister, Brooklyn. Beau also helps coach football and wrestling here at North Mahaska. He enjoys hanging with my family, friends and working out along with boxing to stay in shape, as well as just being active and helping out the community.
