North Mahaska senior Macy Moore will play for a spot in the state Class 1A girl’s golf tournament next Monday. Moore carded a 95 to earn runnerup honors at Knoll Ridge Golf Course in North English. English Valleys was the host school for the meet.

Moore will play in the regional final tourney on her home course at Prairie Knolls in New Sharon on Monday. May 24. Greenlee Smock of Lynnville-Sully topped the field of 29 golfers with a round of 79.

Sigourney took the top team spot with a 402 with team members finishing third through seventh. Colfax-Mingo also moved on as a team firing a 437. Lynnville-Sully was third with a 450.

North Mahaska’s other two golfers, Ronni Layman and Libby Groom, placed 18th and 19th respectively. Layman shot a 119 and Groom shot 120.

Qualifiers from regionals in New London and Pleasantville will make up the field at New Sharon.
