North Mahaska competed at the rescheduled cross country meet at BGM Sept. 27 with the boys winning the team title. Only two teams, North Mahaska and BGM, had enough to compete for the title. North Mahaska Captured second through sixth place to easily win with 20 points, BGM scored 52.
North Mahaska had been ranked 19th at the time. Lane Harmon paced the Warhawk charge finishing second in 21 minutes 11 seconds. He was followed by Brayden Veiseth in 21:12, Asher DeBoef in 21:13, Nate Sampson in 21:24 and Anthony Goemaat rounding out the scoring in 21:33.
North Mahaska also grabbed 10th through 12th place and 17th. Ben Yang was 10th in 23:36; Andy Knockel 11th in 24:05 and
Kincaid Mitchell 12th in 24:40. Garrett Lamb rounded the runners in 26:14.
Senior Addie Schilling finished in the top 10 in the girls’ race with a sixth place finish in 28:56.
The junior high girls matched the boys for a first place finish dominating with the top four places. Aly Steil led the way in 11:16 followed by Allie Veiseth in second with a time of 11:48. Nataliya Linder was next in 11:55 and Emmerson Jedlicka was fourth in 12:07. Aly Mohr was 12th in 14:38.
Larry Mohr was sixth and sole NM male runner in 15:24.
North Mahaska’s boys’ team dropped out of the latest rankings by the Iowa Association of Track Coaches.
