Facing North Mahaska when you have a full contingency of players is difficult this season. Without three starters Colfax-Mingo’s boys basketball team was short-handed against conference-leading North Mahaska on Tuesday night. The result was an 85-43 loss to the Warhawks.
North Mahaska led 28-10 after one quarter and powered out to a 49-19 at halftime advantage. Nash Smith dropped in 23 points, doled out six assists and collected three steals for North Mahaska. Lane Harmon scored 19 points with seven rebounds and five assists. Braden Steel was also in double figures with 17 and Chase Grandia had 10. Steel pulled down a team-high 11 with seven assists.
C-M (2-11, 1-9) saw Cole Bracewell put in a career-high 26 points and went 6-for-9 from 3-point range. His six treys moved him into fourth all-time in school history.
