North Mahaska’s three-game winning streak came to an end Friday in a 5-2 South Iowa Cedar League loss to Lynnville-Sully. A four-run inning by the host Hawks was too much for NM to overcome.
North Mahaska was limited to four singles in the contest. Freshman Madeline Doonan was the only Warhawk to record and RBI on her single. Sophomore Regan Grewe and eighth graders Olivia Ridgeway and Lydia Howell also hit singles.
Grewe took the loss from the circle allowing four runs on four hits with two strikeouts in four innings of work. Ridgeway tossed two innings with a run on two hits and two strikeouts.
Alaina Roberts and Peyton Sharp each had two hits for LS. Alexy Conover earned the win by going the distance. She struck out nine and walked two.
The Warhawks (3-1, 2-1) host BGM Tuesday, go to Colfax-Mingo Wednesday, host Iowa Valley on Friday then plays in the Oskaloosa tournament Saturday.
