Severe wind chills, which cancelled area schools, also postponed the beginning of the Class 1A District basketball tournament for the boys. North Mahaska was to host Melcher-Dallas Monday. That game has been rescheduled to Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in New Sharon.
The contest will be played just ahead of the Region 6 basketball game for the girls. The change means fans will have to pay two different entrance fees to attend both games.
