Belle Plaine scored the first bucket of the game then saw eighth-ranked North Mahaska go on a 35-0 run enroute to a 71-33 South Iowa Cedar League win. The victory rebounded the Warhawks from its only conference loss and placed them at 9-2 on the season and 8-1 in league play.
Four minutes into the game all five North Mahaska starters had scored. By the halftime break Nash Smith had scored 18 points and the Warhawks held a 43-7 advantage forcing a continuous clock throughout the second half. Nash finished the game with 22 points and 12 rebounds.
Lane Harmon scored 17 with four steals and Braden Steel added 11 points, two steals and blocked two shots. Ethan Huffman scored nine.
