North Mahaska (12-1) opened its South Iowa Cedar League contest with HLV (1-13) Friday with a 22-0 run and cruised to a 68-27 victory. The Warhawks shot 54 percent from the field on the night and hit seven 3-pointers.
Nash Smith scored 18 points with eight rebounds and four assists. Braden Steel finished with nine points, eight rebounds three assists, three steals and blocked a shot. Ethan Huffman and Chase Grandia each scored six points.
