North Mahaska’s volleyball team traveled to Chariton Saturday to face Class 2A and 3A competition. The Warhawks went 2-2 on the day defeating host Chariton 21-10, 23-21 and Truro I-35 21-10, 18-21 and 15-5.
Losses came to previously ranked 3A Davis County 25-20, 25-16 and to Albia 22-20 and 21-6.
North Mahaska was led in kills on the day by sophomores Regan Grewe and Sydney Andersen. Grewe was credited with 28 and Andersen 12. The duo led in digs as well with Andersen putting 29 balls in play and Grewe had 24. Senior Jalayna Shipley added 11 and Caitlyn Sanders five.
Shipley and Sanders led the team in services aces. Shipley earned five and Sanders four. She led the team in assists with 32 on the day. Libby Hargis chipped in 17 assists.
North Mahaska hosts Montezuma on Monday.
