Two North Mahaska junior varsity wrestlers competed at the BGM tourney Friday going 3-0 with three pins apiece. Two others went 2-1 with four of the six competitors finish with winning marks.
Dawson DeBoef and Gage Vande Voort were perfect on the night. DeBoef pinned Mount Vernon’s Eli Plotz in 4 minutes, then took 1:37 to fell Iowa Valley’s Dallas Sherman. In his final match DeBoef defeated South Tama’s Kaden Kopsa, 4-3.
Vande Voort spent 1:11 in securing his three pins. He took 11 seconds to pin Sterling Dwyer of Grinnell in 11 seconds.
Blaine Graff of Grinnell and Josiah Redel lasted 30 seconds each to Vande Voort in their matches.
Alex Meland finished the night 2-1. He won a 7-0 decision over Grinnell’s Tyler Kostow and pinned River Williams of Alburnett in 3:38.
Chris Long had a pin o Zebidiah Lowry of English Valleys/Tri-County in 18 seconds while Andy Knockel decisioned Albia’s Nick Garza 4-2.
