Wrestling districts for Class 1A boys has been announced. North Mahaska will join seven other South Iowa Cedar League teams in a district at North English on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 10 a.m. English Valleys/Tri-County are the hosts.
The district will feature 2022 state champion Don Bosco and Hudson, which finished 11th at state last season. North Mahaska will be joined by SICL rivals BGM, Belle Plaine, English Valleys/Tri-County, HLV, Iowa Valley, Lynnville-Sully and Montezuma. Don Bosco was ranked eighth in the state in all classes in the preseason rankings and will prove to be the team to beat.
The top two placewinners in each weight class will advance to the 2023 traditional state tournament.
