North Mahaska senior Dani Miller is going to continue her dance career this fall. Miller has committed to take her talents to William Penn University. Miller signed her Letter of Intent with her parents, Don and Tammy Miller, high school coach Shayla Schilling, WPU coach Abby Reynolds and dance team members present.
“I am really excited to know my dance career is not over,” said Miller. “I thought I might be done.”
Reynolds said Miller is her fourth commitment to her team. Reynolds also coaches the school’s cheer squad.
“I actually heard about Dani through our choreographer,” said Reynolds. “Dani came down for a visit then worked out with the team and she did well. She is going to be a good fit for our program.
For coach Schilling it is the second year in a row one of her dancers has signed. Lexi Van Utrecht signed with Grand View last year.
“I am really proud of Dani,” said Schilling. “She has worked really hard.”
Miller plans to study elementary education as part of her college plan.
“Abby reached out to me in October,” said Miller. “I walked the school then made a visit and worked with the dance team. I am looking forward to it but know it will be more work than it was in high school.”
