Three seniors and a junior scored in double figures as North Mahaska rolled to an 86-44 South Iowa Cedar League victory. The visiting Warhawks forced 26 turnovers including 19 steals that led to the win.
The two teams came out firing with North Mahaska taking a 19-13 lead then exploded for a 22-7 run in the second quarter to take control of the game. A strong third quarter (30-13) gave the Warhawks a continuous clock in the final frame.
North Mahaska was led in scoring by senior Nash Smith and junior Nolan Andersen with 17 points, seniors Lane Harmon chipped in 16 and Braden Steel added 12. Ten of the 11 Warhawk players scored at least two points.
North Mahaska held a 28-25 rebounding edge with Andersen just missing a double-double with nine. Steel led the teams in steals with seven and Andersen added four. Harmon led the team in assists with eight, Smith doled out seven and Steel had six.
Evan Kearney led Iowa Valley with 17 and Caleb Haack added 13.
North Mahaska (8-2, 8-1) will host Belle Plaine on Friday.
