North Mahaska’s junior high boy’s track team won two events and tallied six runner-up spots to place third at Iowa Valley. NM Accumulated 89 points behind Iowa Valley with 160 and BGM with 98.
Cole Wernli had the lone individual win taking the long jump with a leap of 16-feet 5.5-inches. He also led off the winning 1,600-meter relay which won in 4-minutes 36.22-seconds. William Cox, Kenton Stout, and Dallas Langman ran the other legs.
Cox was second in the 100 meters in 13.17 and Wernli was runnerup in the 200 in 26.79. Langman took second in the 400 in 1:05.36 and Isaiah Boonstra rounded out the sprints with a 2:44.58 in the 800.
Tucker Jenkins, Boonstra, Langman, and Quade Grewe took second in the 3,200-meter relay with a time of 11:32.32. Kasen VanRysWyk, Landon Briggs, Cox, and Cain Grandia took the runner-up spot in the sprint medley in 2:04.92.
Wernli, Jackson Doak, Logan Van Zee, and Grewe ran third in the 800 relay in 2:01.14. Stout, Doak, Jenkins, and Van Zee ran third in the shuttle hurdle relay in 1:18.6.
