North Mahaska’s junior high girls’ track team used five first place finishes in placing third at Iowa Valley April 17. Eighth-grader Nataliya Linder accounted for four of the top finishes and 40 of the team’s 100 points. NM also double scored in three events.
English Valleys won the meet with 132.33 points followed by Belle Plaine with 105.
Linder won the 200 meters in 30.39 seconds, 400 meters in 1:10.92, and the 200 hurdles in 33.34. She won the long jump with a leap of 14-feet 4.5-inches.
Kaylia Shipman picked up the other individual win topping the field in the 100 meters in 14.47. Teammate Bailee Bandstra was fifth in 15.89. Ally Dannels and Addison Falb ran two-three in the 1,500 meters in 6:23.32 and 6:46.87 respectively. The other double cane in the 800 when Carly Lake and Dannels placed fourth and fifth. Lake posted a time of 3:10.96 and Dannels ran 3:13.81.
Macie Little added a third place finish in the 100 hurdles with a time of 20.40. Jocelyn Pinkerton threw 58-0 feet in the discus to earn fourth place.
