North Mahaska stepped out of conference play Monday hosting PCM. The visiting Mustangs took advantage of 16 turnovers to post a 51-46 win.
PCM (3-3) led by one after one quarter and extended to 25-22 at intermission. The Mustangs maintained a 2-point advantage entering the final quarter. There were seven ties in the contest.
Either team could have put the game away at the free throw line. PCM was 50 percent hitting 10-of-20 and North Mahaska was 55 percent hitting 10-of-18.
North Mahaska collected 29 rebounds including 11 on the offensive end. They also picked up nine steals.
Nolan Andersen led North Mahaska in scoring with 12 points and recorded a block. Nate Sampson chipped in eight with two steals and two assists.
Lucas Nunnikhoven hit for seven while Gabe Hora had six points, five rebounds and three steals. Jack Kelderman added six. Asher DeBoef led the Warhawk rebounding with seven and recorded five assists.
Gavin Van Gorp led all scorers with 15 points for the mustangs. Jacob Wendt led the PCM rebounding with 13 and added six points.
North Mahaska (3-3, 2-2) will play at Colfax-Mingo Tuesday then host Tri-County on Friday.
