Freshman Jocelyn Pinkerton and junior Regan Grewe combined for three singles and three homeruns to drive in six runs to lead North Mahaska to a 10-4 South Iowa Cedar League softball win over Lynnville-Sully. Pinkerton also took the win from the pitching circle.
North Mahaska (2-1) pounded out 14 hits and drove in eight runs. Grewe hit two homers and the single while Pinkerton rapped a homer and two singles. Freshman Olivia Ridgeway hit two singles with an RBI; freshman Kaylia Shipman hit a single and double and freshman Lydia Howell rapped an RBI single.
Pinkerton worked five innings scattering six hist and allowing three runs. She walked three batters. Grewe toss the final two frames allowing a run on one hit.
Alaina Roberts led LS with an RBI triple; Morgan Jones hit a double and Alexy Conover hit a single.
Conover took the loss for the Hawks (1-2). She yielded seven runs on eight hits and a walk. She struck out five.
North Mahaska will travel to Brooklyn Tuesday to take on BGM in another SICL contest.
