Running on one of the toughest courses of the season, North Mahaska’s boys ran to seventh in the team race at Lynnville Golf Course in a meet hosted by Lynnville-Sully. The course traverses the gold course with hills and temperatures were in the 90s to add to the challenge.

Pella Christian and Lynnville-Sully finished one-two, each with 46 points. North Mahaska scored 155.

North Mahaska’s high school and middle school girls also competed but did not have enough runners for a team score.

For the boys, seniors Axl Patterson and Ben Yang sparked the Warhawks finishing 22nd and 25th overall. In the team race, Patterson was 20th in 2o minutes 59.9 seconds and Yang 23rd in 21:01.2. Another senior, Kincaid Mitchell ran 32nd overall and 30th in the team race with a time of 22:07.4. Cain Grandia earned 41st in 25:27.4 and Jeb Goemaat was 42nd in 25:39.7.

Running but not figuring into the team score was Maddox Wynja in 25:59.3 and Will Cox 32:45.1.

Emmerson Jedlicka works her way up the hill and around the corner on her way to a fourth place finish at Lynnville Thursday.

High school girls continue to chase Pekin’s Chloe Glosser, who finished first in 20:21.3. Emmerson Jedlicka came in fourth in 22:10.8. Ava Huffman just missed placing in the top 10 taking 11th in 23:34.2 and Amber Knockel was 36th in 31:03.3.

Jade DeBoef had the lead on the first loop at Lynnville Golf Course Thursday but finished second overall in 12:38.9.

The best overall finish for the Warhawks came on the legs of Jade DeBoef in the middle school contest. DeBoef was second in 12:38.9. Addelynn Jedlicka ran 22nd in 16:14.5 and Mallory Schippers was 28th in 16:58.2. Jlynn Patterson took 41st in 21:23.7.

North Mahaska’s teams will be back on the road Monday when they travel to PCM to compete at Gateway Recreation.
