Winds were howling across the hills of the Colfax Country Club Monday as North Mahaska, BGM and Colfax-Mingo teed off in a triangular. The NM girls carded a 224 to outdistance BGM with a 229 and host C-M with a 257. North Mahaska boys lost by four strokes to BGM 171-175. C-M finished with a 191.
Aly Steil took medalist honors for the girls with the only score in the 40s. She finished with a 45. BGM’s Averee Krebell was second with a 52. Jocelyn Pinkerton took third with a 53 for North Mahaska. Elise Westercamp (61) and Addison Vander Beek (65) rounded out the Warhawk scoring. Also playing were Lacey Campbell with a 65 and Breckyn Schilling with 67.
Jaxon VanDerVeer tied for first in the boy’s meet with a 41 but was second on a card-off with BGM’s Robbie Tometich. Travis Castaneda and Cooper Sampson each shot 44 for North Mahaska and Jack Kelderman carded a 46. Also playing were Lucas Nunnikhoven with a 57 and Hunter Wernli, 67.
The teams will head to North English Monday for their next meet.
