North Mahaska senior inked his name to a national Letter of Intent Friday to play basketball at Willaim Penn University. Hora is the second basketball player to sign with the Statesmen this season. He will join teammate Asher DeBoef, who signed in March.
“Gabe has those game skills we are looking for,” said WPU head coach John Henry. “His movement without the basketball impressed us along with his quick shooting ability.”
Hora said there was really not another school in the running.
“I wanted to play near home,” said Hora. “Coach Henry showed interest and has faith in me. The opportunity to play with Asher is exciting. I want to thank all of my teammates for giving me this opportunity.”
Hora plans to major in sports management hoping to have the opportunity coach in the future.
