North Mahaska’s shuttle hurdle relay team set a school record of 1:07.09.
It was a chance to end your season on a high note Thursday at the Class 1A state track qualifier at Lynnville-Sully.
While the boys were unable to make the field of 24 in any event, the shuttle hurdle relay team set a school record.
The team ran fourth in 1:07.09. Charlie Goemaat, Jackson Doak, Mx Reed and Tyson Ferguson earned the record.
The quartet of Bronson Edwards-Hinton, Nolan Schock, Joel Clark and Max Reed ran 10th overall and clocked a 52.70 second time. Ferguson and Jeb Goemaat had the best individual efforts on the night with a fourth place in the long jump and 400 meters. Ferguson, a junior had a leap of 18-feet, 3.25 inches. Sophomore Goemaat covered the 400 in 55.19. Ferguson ran sixth in the 400 hurdles in 1:00.26.
Will Cox placed seventh in the 200 meters in 24.38.
In the final run of the night, Goemaat, Cox, Jackson Doak and Charlie Goemaat ran fifth in the 1,600-meter relay in 3:51.43. Edwards-Hinton, Nolan Schock, Clark and Kasen Vanryswyk was eighth in the 800-meter relay in 2:04.21.
As a team, North Mahaska placed ninth at the 14-team meet. Baxter outdueled Iowa Valley for the team title 126-121. Host Lynnville-Sully was third with 116.
