It took a two-run rally by Iowa Valley to force extra innings, but North Mahaska outlasted the Tigers for an 8-7 win in nine innings. North Mahaska broke a 3-3 tie with two runs in the top of the fourth only to see Iowa Valley score twice in their final at bat in regulation.

Jack Kelderman, Charlie Goemaat and Tyler Ferguson each drove in two runs for North Mahaska. Kelderman had the lone extra base hit for the Warhawks with a double. Luke Boender stroked two singles. Lucas Nunnikhoven aided the cause with a pair stolen bases.

Hunter Wernli. Earned the mound win in relief. He threw 2/3 of an inning allowing two runs on two hits and a walk. Jaxon VanDerVeer started throwing 7 2/3 innings. He gave up five runs on nine hits, two walks and struck out five. Dan Van Mersbergen also tossed 2/3 of an inning allowing a hit and walking one.

Layne Pseka and Bryer Slockett led the Tigers at the plate. Peska hit two singles and a double to drive in two runs while Slockett knocked two doubles with two RBI. Four Tiger hurlers worked the game allowing eight runs on 10 hits, and three walks. They struck out four, three of them by Cole Long. Dane Smith took the loss giving up two runs on a hit and two walks.

North Mahaska, 7-5, returns home Monday to take on BGM.
