North Mahaska had no answer for Lynnville-Sully’s Gavin Oles’ pitching Thursday night. The No. 3 ranked Hawks held North Mahaska hitless in a 16-0 four-inning victory.
Oles hit a batter for the Warhawks’ only baserunner. Meanwhile L-S put up seven runs in the bottom of the first inning, two in the second, three in third and four to end the game early.
Lannon Montgomery had the big stick for Lynnville-Sully rapping a homerun and driving in five runs. Jaiden
Richards hit two singles and a double to drive in two and Carson Maston added two RBI on a pair of singles.
Dane Van Mersbergen took the loss. He went two innings allowing 11 runs on 10 hits and hit two batters. Lucas Nunnikhoven tossed an inning giving up five runs on three hits, three walks and a hit batsman.
North Mahaska will look to regroup Friday with a home contest with HLV/Tri-County at 7 p.m. Both baseball and softball will play a varsity only game. Softball also will start at 7 p.m.
