North Mahaska held off a seventh inning rally by the BGM Bears June 1 to post an 8-5 South Iowa Cedar League softball win. The visiting Warhawks 7-2 entering the final frame and added an insurance run. BGM plated three but could not create any more offense.
North Mahaska (3-1) outhit BGM 11-4. Zoe Deucore just missed hitting the cycle with a single, triple and homerun to drive in three runs. Morgan Hudson rapped single and double to drive in two. Kaya Readshaw had an RBI double, and Aly Steil hit two singles with an RBI.
Hudson took the win from the circle with five runs, three earned, on five hits and four walks. She struck out nine.
