Cool and windy weather greeted teams at the Iowa Valley track meet in Marengo Monday. Williamsburg topped the field of nine teams with 176 points ahead of HLV with 93. North Mahaska girls were sixth with 40.
Kieren Perez had the lone first place finish and Emmerson Jedlicka snagged a pair of runnerup spots. Perez topped the field in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.97 seconds. She also took fourth in the 100 meter in 13.46. Jedlicka was second in the 3,000 meters in 11:28.79 and 1,500 with a time of 5:04.65.
The distance medley team ran third in 5:04.65 and the 3,200 relays team ran fourth in 11:36.50.
Ava Huffman was seventh in the 800 meters in 2:45.98 and Lilly Briggs was eighth in the 400 in 1:14.66. The sprint medley relay and 1,600 meter relay ran seventh.
The girls return to action Thursday at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.
