The district uses SwiftReach / Swift Alert as a mass communication alert system for notifying parents of important messages. We have been notified by several individuals they are not receiving district messages via the text alert system. Some of the issues with people not receiving messages involve cell carriers blocking short codes. The text from the mass communication system is a short code. Staff and Parents should check with their cellular provider to ensure short codes are enabled on their phone. You can also check your phone by texting help to 99538. If you get an error message or no response at all, your phone is not accepting short codes and you should check with your cellular provider.
If you are not receiving messages via the district’s mass communication system, you can follow these steps to ensure you receive future text messages from the school:
1. Check to ensure your phone number listed in Power School is correct.
2. Check to ensure your phone number is listed on both the demographic page and contact page in Power School.
3. Text help to 99538. If you get an error message or no response at all, your phone is not accepting short codes and you should check with your cellular provider.
